WHAT WAS YOUR DIAGNOSIS?
Hashimoto's and then when we moved into a moldy apartment my illness was compounded with mold toxicity, which triggered POTS, Mast Cell Activation, and a Lyme Disease resurgence, as well as EMF sensitivity. .
.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO GET YOUR DIAGNOSIS?
3 years after I first started struggling, and I had to fight for it. My doc told me my anxiety was normal, because I was a new mom, my weight would come off eventually and that my thyroid levels weren't "that" off. I found a different doc to do more labs. 2-3 years for the other diagnosis’.

WHAT WAS THE LOWEST POINT IN YOUR HEALING JOURNEY?
I couldn't figure out why in 2016 I was getting worse. New symptoms, exhaustion, no strength. At one point my depth perception skewed and I ended up side-swiping a parked car in the Target Parking lot. That was devastating. It showed me when I was flaring, it wasn't safe to drive. I became homebound a lot.

WHAT RESOURCES DID YOU USE ON YOUR HEALING JOURNEY?

In fact, get the word "calories" out of your vocabulary when it comes to food.

💥Food is instructions for our bodies.
.
.
It’s so easy to get caught up in the American “Diet” the mentality of restricting or increasing calories to feed the body or lose weight.🍽
.
.
Instead, let’s think of food in a different manner.🥥
.
.
What you eat determines what type of microbiome you will have.👍
.
.
It also instructs your microbiome to communicate with your brain in certain ways creating various moods.🧠
.
.
The nutrients in food communicate with our cells instructing them to perform certain functions.
.
.
Vitamins and minerals from the food we eat determine organ function (or lack thereof).
.
.
So you see, when you eat a snickers bar or drink a soda, you are feeding your body chemical and preservative instructions that confuse, cloud and damage the cells and organs. That “food” creates a burden that now the body has to put energy towards to reverse and repair.
.
.
In contrast, eating an organic apple 🍎and organic nut/seed butter will give you fiber and pectin to speak to your microbiome, glucose to give your cells energy, fat to nourish the cell membrane and the brain and improve intestinal epithelial lining.
.
.
Eating a grass-fed steak 🥩will give you vitamin K2 to help your cells accept the nutrients from the food you’re eating. K2 will help calcium not build up in the wrong locations as well. .
.
Adding dark leafy greens to your diet will help with peristalsis in the colon and cleanse out the bad bugs.
.

It’s the TYPE of food you eat that matters, not the calories my friends! Choose wisely and give your body the best instructions possible.

Contrary to what’s been taught over the years. Fat is actually your friend.🙌 ▶️High-quality fat, that is.◀️

🔷️In order for new cells to be produced in the body, high-quality fat and animal protein need to be eaten.
.
.
🔷️The best source of energy for most cells in the body is fat. (Human Nutrition and Dietetics, 2000. 10th ed.)
.
.
🔷️Every single cell membrane in your body (that’s trillions) is made of fat.
.
.
🔷️Your brain (a fatty organ) requires A LOT of good fat to maintain its structure and high-quality protein to manufacture neurotransmitters and hormones.
.
.
🔷️Your brain will starve without fat and protein from healthy animals.
.
.
🔷️Undamaged fat will not make you fat. Trans Fat, Hydrogenated Fat, Sugar, alcohol and refined carbohydrates will.
.
.
🔷️Trans fats directly damage the immune system and are linked to cancer, heart disease, eczema, asthma and neurological and psychiatric conditions. They also increase triglycerides and LDL cholesterol.

🔷️Now don’t go out and get all Keto on me. Though Keto is helpful for those with cancer and epilepsy, it can be risky for those with certain chronic illnesses because it can contribute to adrenal dysfunction.

🔷️Instead of going to the extreme lots of fat and paying no attention to quality, why not add one to two tablespoons of high-quality fat into your diet each day?

💯Choose from pastured beef tallow, pastured pork lard, grass-fed butter or ghee. In addition to those animal fats organic avocado oil, organic coconut oil, organic hemp oil are excellent choices.

How about a healthier version of a classic dessert? It’s grain, gluten, dairy, soy and nut-free too!

Any type of food that’s layered is golden in my book. Layered dips, layered desserts – you name it, they are tasty.

I used to eat a very unhealthy version of this dessert with lots of refined white sugar, glutinous grains that weren’t properly prepared, lots of soy lecithin and the dairy had antibiotics, hormones and body inflaming components. 🍥
Since changing my own diet and lifestyle to promote health rather than degrade it, I have become very mindful of what I put in my mouth.

After all, food is instructions for our bodies!

We need to give our cells the right directions.
