It probably seems a little unusual to spend time as a patient at a holistic oncology clinic for two weeks without a cancer diagnosis.
However, that’s exactly what I did.
If you have been around Feasting on Joy for any length of time, you’ll know that I have quite a profound healing story from Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, suicidal depression, asthma, vitiligo and more.
Before H4C, I got my life back from the brink of death (literally) using food as medicine and designing a non-toxic lifestyle. They are paramount for wellness, despite an autoimmune diagnosis.
Where I was in my Healing Journey Before Hope 4 Cancer
In my healing journey, I was to the point of weaning off my thyroid hormone medication after taking it for 14 years. The beautiful victory was that with the help of my naturopath, I was able to reduce my thyroid hormone dose to under half of what I had been taking. The goal was (and still is) to get off the medication fully as I personally do not want to be tied the rest of my life to a pharmaceutical if at all possible.
The not so happy part was that during titrating down on my thyroid hormone, my thyroid antibodies spiked. They were a lot lower than most people with Hashimoto’s deal with but for me, they were rising.
Root Cause Detection
Rising antibodies only means one thing – there is a root cause that needs to be discovered and addressed in order to fully heal as well as get rid of those antibodies.
I took that as my cue to do some digging via testing to figure out what was underlying in my body and causing interference for my complete healing.
The search led to a discovery of several silent infections. Some of which I had conquered before but came back and some of which were new and presenting some symptoms.
They were MRSA, Klebsiella, Ochratoxin A (mold), Candida, EBV and Strep bacteria.
I am convinced that a recent season of chronic stress as well as some underlying dental issues I didn’t know about, brought these on!
I was living a high quality of life, yet these stealthy pathogens were hiding in their biofilm castles sending out enzymes to hide from my immune system.
Silent Infections
Honestly, with Hashimoto’s patients, silent infections are common and often go undetected for a length of time.
Just like with emotional health/trauma that is unresolved, letting these infections exist in the body actually hinders healing and can eventually cause more diseases, including cancer.
My Why
Since part of my WHY is that I endeavor to live a life of prevention and NOT get any new diagnosis, you can imagine that I wanted to take care of these infections in the best way that I could in a timely manner.
After much prayer, research, and reading, God led me to invest and partner with Hope4Cancer for adding to my healing team.
What is Hope 4 Cancer?
H4C is a holistic cancer clinic that has locations both in Tijuana and Cancun, Mexico. Dr. Tony Jimenez founded it and has been developing protocols and meeting with patients for 25 years. He is a gift as well as very gifted and a Godsend for many people.

The shuttle and my driver Alex, who would pick me up every day from the hotel to take me to the clinic.
Hope 4 Cancer’s 3 Point Mission:
- Treating the whole person, not the disease
- Treatment is not a one size fits all
- Healing is a lifelong journey
God is Healer
From the perspective that God is the Ultimate Healer, they provide natural, non-toxic therapies encompassing their 7 key principles of healing.
The 7 Key Principles are:
- Non-toxic Cancer Therapies
- Immunomodulation
- Full Spectrum Nutrition
- Detoxification
- Oxygenation
- Microbiome Restoration
- Emotional and Spiritual Healing
It was a gift to experience in person what these principles were like there for 2 weeks – 6 days each week from 7:15 am-3 pm.
I also had many full blood panels done, full-body thermography, ultrasounds, and two full plant-based, organic meals each day that were made by Chefs Gustavo and Jorge. The food was out of this world delicious.
You can get Dr. Jimenez’s book, Hope 4 Cancer to learn more about the 7 Key principles and how you can implement some of them at home. Even if you don’t have cancer or chronic illness, I recommend reading this book and implementing what is talked about. It presents very valuable and attainable healthcare protocols from a “God as the Healer” perspective.
The Food at Hope 4 Cancer

These are chefs Jorge and Gustavo at H4C who made the most delicious organic food, juices and smoothies every day.
The food at Hope 4 Cancer is served twice daily to patients for breakfast and lunch. It is all organic and plant-based. I was amazed at how flavorful and delicious the food was and I literally wanted to take the chefs home with me. In fact, I asked but they said, “No.” I am sure they get that question a lot.

Each meal had a main dish, a type of smoothie, and something fermented like Kvass or Kombucha.
It took a burden off to be fed two times a day healthy food that would reduce inflammation and, at the same time, nourish the body. It was full of colorful phytonutrients, fiber, high-quality fat, and plant-based protein. I am a high-quality meat eater but for two weeks, only eating plant-based worked well.
It boggles my mind that we don’t serve this kind of food to all hospital patients in the United States!
Each day, the clinic sends the patients home with fresh-pressed, organic juice to nourish through the evening. We brought the bottle back the next day for refills!

On the beach journaling and sipping my juice, after a day at the clinic
Worship Time at Hope 4 Cancer
One of my favorite aspects of my visit was starting the day out in a group with prayer and worship to our God and Savior, Jesus Christ. This time was optional for patients but was the most beautiful healing time each morning.

Sometimes the patients would bless us with their gift of singing. I loved that!
Length of My Plan
First, I spent two weeks at the clinic and, once home, I will be following recommended protocols for 9-12 months for wellness. I have doctor calls every three weeks and will even continue with their BEST program (Behavioral, Emotional and Spiritual Therapy) at home via Zoom calls.
After 3 months I fly back to the clinic for follow-up assessments and doctor visits so we can adjust and tweak whatever is needed.
Then I fly back one more time at either month 6 or 9 for the same type of follow-up appointments.
With the improvement I have already seen in 2 short weeks, I anticipate full healing!
My Doctors at Hope 4 Cancer
I was paired with Dr. Alan Navarette as my main doctor at Hope 4 Cancer. He was like a very caring teddy bear and checked in on me many of the days I was at the clinic. He oversaw all of my protocols, labs, results, and plan. I had an initial appointment with him soon after I got there and my tests were done.
Then, I also had an appointment with both him and Dr. Tony and Dr. Tony made suggestions about my care and plan as well. While I was there I also met with Candalaria, the Hope 4 Cancer Nutritionist to develop my nutrition plan. That was interesting since that’s what I do for a living. I loved seeing how other people do it.
I also had one appointment with Evan Hughes for the B.E.S.T program and one appointment with Dr. Leslie. Evan addressed behavioral changes and Dr. Leslie dove into past trauma and genealogical emotional connections to health and made me a personalized flower essence tincture. I will continue to meet with Evan during my home program 3 more times.

Me with Dr. Alan at Hope 4 Cancer
During my stay, Dr. Tony taught one evening. It was a blessing to be able to sit with him for several hours and ask him questions and glean from his knowledge. I have pages of notes that I took. His passion was contagious and his transparency was refreshing. The chefs also made yummy snacks for us to enjoy after his talk. Dr. Tony is not always at the clinic but if you go during “Dr. Tony Weeks” (they call them), then you will likely get to listen to one of his talks. I didn’t plan to be there during a “Dr. Tony Week” but it just so happened I was. An added bonus!
Specific Healing Therapies I Participated in at Hope 4 Cancer
Each day I participated in anywhere between 9-15 different therapies. Below I will share a small snapshot of the name of each therapy and what the purpose is for it. If you want to know more in-depth about these (the ones with an * by them), as well as my experience, I share it all with my members in Wellspring™.
UVBI Ultra-violet Blood Irradiation this therapy removes blood, infuses it with ozone and then puts it back in the body while running it through a UV light to disinfect it. It improves blood circulation and oxygenation potential, reduces inflammation, stimulates the immune system, improves metabolism, combats pathogenic microbes, reduces treatment side-effects, and oxygenates the blood.

Me doing a UVBI Treatment
Indiba this is local hyperthermia (heat therapy) that is beneficial for increased blood and lymph circulation, increased oxygen pressure, decreased carbonic acid production, decreased tissue acidity, increased immune system activity, and cell revitalization. It helped repair my thyroid gland and skin.

The Indiba machine we used multiple times per week.
Hyperthermia* this is full-body heat therapy in 45-minute sessions that destroys rogue cells, pathogens, and cancer cells. It is also helpful for killing fungus, molds, and yeasts.

Just finished a 45-minute hyperthermia session. My body got up to 107 degrees. Thankfully, I was drinking electrolytes and had oxygen on the whole time!
Lymphatic Massage* while I don’t have a picture of this, it was done daily as a light-touch massage which helps the lymph system drain toxins and reduces the burden on the body and immune system. It was so light it almost felt like nothing was happening.
Coffee Enema* these were done daily and were helpful for detoxifying the liver, rid the body of dead tissue and helps the liver create clean bile.

Getting ready to do a coffee enema here. They took about 15-30 minutes. I don’t love this delivery system and enjoy a different coffee enema kit.
Rectal Ozone* with an enzymatic process, this therapy helps release oxygen in the body to be used by the cells. It is super helpful to kill mold, fungus, and yeast. In the presence of oxygen, disease cannot thrive. Vaginal and intravenous insufflations can be done as well. At home, I also utilize oral and nasal insufflations and drink a glass of ozonated water each day with my home ozone machine.

Me getting ready to do a rectal ozone insufflation after a coffee enema.
Colonics* I had this therapy done two times at Hope 4 Cancer and I had never done it before. It was an adventure but really helpful to fully cleanse the colon from parasites, biofilms, molds, fungus, yeast and even being constipated. The better your digestive system, the more improved your health with be because the body isn’t storing and recirculating toxins.
Biofeedback Assessment originally I paid extra for this to be done by Dr. Tony but I ended up having it done by Javier. This took about an hour and a half and Javier assessed my entire body via a machine that utilized electrodes (not shocking kind!) on my head. The report he gave me helped to identify different behavioral patterns as well as inflammation in my body.
Red Light Therapy* I did this daily for 25 minutes and it was so relaxing. I bought my own red light when I got home because I loved it so much. This therapy helps enhance blood circulation, improve cellular generation, increase white blood cell count, provide temporary relief from muscular pain and spasms, heal joint aches and stiffness, stimulate DNA and protein synthesis in cells, and provide a penetrating warmth and a feeling of comfort.

One of my daily red light therapy sessions over my abdomen, chest and thyroid.
PEMF* called Pulse Electro-Magnetic Field Therapy. This is something I did each day at variable levels. Its benefits are decreased pain, reduced inflammation, increased range of motion, faster functional recovery, reduced muscle loss after surgery, increased tensile strength in ligaments, faster healing of skin wounds, enhanced capillary formation, acceleration of nerve regeneration, decreased tissue necrosis and many frequencies have a negative effect on parasites and pathogenic infections in the body.
Hyperbaric Oxygen* Also called HBOT. Each day I would spend about an hour in the hyperbaric oxygen chamber. Thankfully, I had used these many times before so I knew what to expect and how to do it so my ears wouldn’t hurt or be under too much pressure. This was a very relaxing therapy. With this therapy, oxygen under pressure dissolves into all of the body’s fluids, including plasma, CNS fluids, lymph and bone. Increasing oxygen in the fluids helps kill pathogens and rogue cells. I would like to get one of these at home!

Me in the hyperbaric oxygen chamber with an IV at the same time.
IV Therapies: B17, Vitamin C, Curcumin, Selenium, Oliphenolia, Salvus, Samyr these are tailored specifically to the patient and their needs after testing. They are alternated throughout the stay and usually, IVs happen every single day. I had a port that would stay in for 3 days at a time so they wouldn’t need to poke me every day. Though these were effective, some of them were very painful but I had nurses who helped lessen and, at times, eliminate the pain.

Me doing IV curcumin and hyperbaric oxygen therapy
Sunivera Immunotherapy this therapy activates the pacmen (macrophages) of the blood cells so they can eat up all the bad cells and trash in the body. It helps to uplevel the immune system and wake it up from a slumber. For a much more scientific explanation, check out this article.

One of my Sunivera vials I brought home for injections during my home program.
Salvus/TCM this therapy works in tandem with the Sunivera for the immune system. The Salvus and TCM were injections I received at the clinic which modulate T-Cells and elevates leukocytes and monocyte levels. It helps the body discover rogue cells that may have been hiding in the systems. Here is a more thorough explanation at this article.
Full Body Thermography during the initial two-week stay I had two full-body thermography scans. One on the first day I was there and one the day before I was set to leave. It was super interesting to see the areas of inflammation subside and/or change in the comparison scans. Interestingly, my jaw and teeth came up as inflamed in certain areas even though I wasn’t having pain. Since I am writing this article after I have gotten home and settled from H4C, I can tell you that one month after I got home, as my immune system was waking up from the protocols I was doing, the areas that lit up in this scan in my jaw started to cause pain. I ended up having to take care of some hidden dental infections.
Thermography is amazing at early detection of disease and inflamed systems and cells as well as providing the patient with a health baseline. I will also have another follow-up thermography scan when I go back to H4C for follow-ups.
Full Body Ultrasound I also had a full body ultrasound on my first day and on the day before I left and I will be having these scans during my follow-up appointments too. These are to establish a baseline and track progress as well as to detect any masses, tumors, or any areas of concern.
Vibration Plate this tool is used to increase lymphatic drainage in the body by providing movement for the body. It gets the muscles working. The benefits are improved muscle strength, improved endocrine function, decreased stress hormones, improved body mass index (BMI), increased bone mass, improved flexibility, and better balance.

I used this daily while looking at the beautiful Atlantic Ocean!
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis {Cell Well Being} while I was there, towards the end of my stay, Dr. Alan performed a Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis to detect heavy metal toxicity. After I got home, I was sent a report of findings but sadly, it was not really gone over with me and I do not really understand the results.
Do You Need to go to Hope 4 Cancer to Help Heal?
As I mentioned in the beginning, I have made many, many changes in my mindset, nutrition and lifestyle over the years and God allowed me, through those changes, to experience a full life again. Apart from the infections, I would not have felt the need to go to Hope4Cancer.
In fact, what I teach in my membership experience, Wellspring™ is exactly what I did to get my life back (before the infections) and how YOU can do the same from your own home. The specific road map and goals are all in Wellspring™ along with coaching from me.
The answer about whether you need to go to Hope4Cancer is really a personal decision. First, it depends on what you are challenged with on your health journey. It depends on your budget and it depends on if you are being called to go to H4C.
There are many people that do not go to H4C and still find healing from their autoimmunity. The key is that you DO the holistic therapies and protocols at home and implement a rigorous plan for wellness AND that you have a competent healing team surrounding you, supporting you, listening to you and respecting you.
The decision is yours!

What’s the Cost?
Before I end, there is one more item I want to address because this is the number one question I get when people find out I have been to Hope4Cancer.
They ask what the cost is.
The cost depends on your needs and your diagnosis’. The only way to know the exact cost for you and your healing journey is by calling them and getting your free consult. They will have a doctor review your paperwork and history and make recommendations based on the findings. Pricing will come along with those recommendations.
I will share what I paid for my program in my H4C review post when I am done with the year program.
Healing From Your Home if H4C is not an option
If you are ready to get your healing on from the challenging symptoms you experience with autoimmunity and you want to do it affordably by using a program you can do at home and have professional accountability as well as a community of Christian women, then you’ll want to check out Wellspring™. If we’re on a waiting list, be sure to get your name on it because you get the first notice on when doors open again!
Here is my full review of Hope 4 Cancer once my program ended. That way I can report back on the full experience, rather than just the beginning.
After reading your comments on HFC, I decided to join Wellspring program.
Do you have contact information for the patients whom you met while you were at Cancun (Mexico) HFC clinic?
I would like to know their experiences and opinions about HFC program.
Thank you.
Hi Kay, I see that you have joined the Wellspring™ waiting list, as enrollment is not open right now. I will share with you in a separate email social media handles of some of my friends and colleagues who have experienced H4C.
Thank you for sharing
You’re welcome, Joane.
