Recipe type: Seasoning
Serves: 36
A robust and flavorful mix of organic seasonings for your next taco night!
  • 1 C. Organic Red Chili Powder
  • ¼ C. plus 4 tsp. Organic Paprika Powder
  • ¼ C. plus 4 tsp. Organic Ground Cumin Powder
  • 8 tsp. Organic Ground Coriander Powder
  • ¼ C. Organic Oregano Leaf
  • ¼ C. Organic Garlic Powder
  • 2 Tlbs. Organic Onion Powder
  • ¼ C. Organic Sea Salt
  • 4-8 tsp. Black Pepper (less for no spice, more for lots of spicyness.)
  1. In a large bowl, combine all spices.
  2. Stir until combined well and no chunks remain.
  3. Store in an airtight container, in a dark place for no longer than a year.
To Use
  1. For one serving, use one pound of meat and 2 TLBS. of seasoning.
  2. First, on medium heat, slightly cook your meat and break it into small chunks.
  3. While it's still cooking, add ½ cup of filtered water and taco seasoning.
  4. Stir to coat meat.
  5. Cover pan and let simmer for 20 minutes until meat it cooked through.
  6. If there is still a good amount of liquid left at the bottom, remove the cover and let simmer 5 minutes more until it has evaporated.
  7. *Don't drain the fat! If your meat is grass fed, that's good fat and you need it. Plus, it has a lot of flavor from the seasoning.
I use Mountain Rose Herbs spices for this recipe. They are the best organic and clean spices around!
For 1 lb. of meat use 2 TLBS. of seasoning.
For the big eaters in our house, I use 2 lbs. of beef with a ¼c. of seasoning.
