Bless Your Mom on Mother’s Day With DIY Essential Oil Gifts

There are a staggering 85 million moms in America! That means at least 85 million people should be going out of the way to bless their moms on Mother’s Day this year. How are you going to honor your mom this year?

Sometimes it’s hard to come up with unique ideas that will honor your mom and make her feel special. That’s why I came up with 5 fantastic DIY ideas that incorporate essentials oils, that you can make for your mom on her special day.  Each item takes under and hour to make!

Proverbs 31: 25
Strength and honor are her clothing;
She shall rejoice in time to come.

Homemade gifts are always so special. I remember when I made my mom a puffy painted Christmas sweatshirt one year when I was a little girl. She wore it proudly all day! Awhhhh. I have the best mom.

Here are some grown-up ways to make her day special this year.

5 DIY Gifts With Essential Oils to Bless Your Mom

Homemade Wool Dryer Balls

Dryer balls are so simple to make and last a very long time. They are a great way to freshen up laundry without the toxic chemicals (like fragrance) that come in store-bought dryer sheets. I love dryer balls because you can choose the scent that fits your mood. Because they’re wool they also remove static cling! These take less than an hour to make and I even have a video tutorial on how to make Wool Dryer Balls you can watch to make it a breeze.

Bye-Bye Stress Roller-ball Blend

Rollerball blends are a cinch to make and have lasting effects throughout the day. Every mom has stress and needs to find a way to manage it. One way you can help your mom if by creating a Bye-Bye Stress Rollerball blend for her. You can give this rollerball to her with a satin eye mask and her own bottle of Lavender

It’s really important that you only use chemical-free, contaminant-free, GMO-free and Filler-free essential oils. My favorite brand has been tested by third parties and has always been found to be extremely potent and free of all harmful substances as mentioned above. If you don’t use oils I have described and they have fillers and contaminants it can actually cause stress for your mom and I know you don’t want to do that!

Recipe: Using a 10ml glass rollerball bottle, place 15 drops of Lavender, 10 drops of Grapefruit, 8 drops of Rosemary and 5 drops of Ylang Ylang and then fill the rest with Fractionated Coconut Oil.

She can rub this on her pulse points and the back of her neck when stressful days or situations arise. *Do not put this blend on in an area that will be directly exposed to the sun for a long period of time. Grapefruit oil has a constituent called Furanoids that makes it photosensitive and can cause your skin to be susceptible to sunburn quicker for 12 hours after application.

DIY Homemade Non-Toxic Cleaner Set

What mom wouldn’t love an entire set of handmade, non-toxic cleaners made just for her with recipes, e-book, bottles and beautiful labels? This gift will take under an hour to put together because, in my kit, I give you all the recipes, instructions, printable labels and supply lists. You might want to make your own set while you’re making moms! The best part is that once she receives these fresh cleaners all she has to do is look at the label on the bottle to re-make them when she runs out. The recipe is right on the label! Help your mom reduce the toxic load in her home by giving her the gift of these chemical-free, essential oil cleaners. They are so pure you could eat them and they clean perfectly. Be sure to click the link above to get your kit so you can make these for your mom.

Soothing Bath Salts

Bathtime can be some of the most relaxing times for mom. Epsom salt baths with essential oils are something I look forward to during the day. They help me unwind from chaotic days and stressful times. You can give a jar of these to your mom with a beeswax candle and maybe a new book and I guarantee, she’ll love it.

Recipe: 2 Cups Filler Free Epsom Salt (be sure it has no added fragrance and has only Epsom salt in the ingredients), & 20 drops Lavender Essential Oil. In a small bowl place the Epsom salt and the drops of lavender oil. Stir to thoroughly mix the oil with the salt. Place in a canning jar and top with a pretty piece of material, a paper label, and a feminine ribbon. *If you know your mom would prefer another oil instead of lavender here are some other good choices: Roman Chamomile, Balance, Whisper, Ylang Ylang, Serenity,  & Frankincense.

Silky Whipped Body Butter

doTERRA has a yummy recipe on their DIY blog for a creamy, silky whipped body butter. You can make up a quick batch of this and put it in a pretty jar wrapped with a colorful ribbon for your mom on Mother’s Day. Your mom will love putting this on her skin because of the therapeutic factors that will rejuvenate her skin and make it feel youthful again.

If you don’t have essential oils I want to show you where to start, take the overwhelm out of using them and mentor you in your oil journey so you use them safely and effectively. You can also take one of the classes that I offer to get educated and bring oils into your home.

Which DIY Idea with essential oils are you going to make to help your mom feel special this year?
